Here is a compilations of places you can look for internships in the field of East Asian Studies. This is not an internship posting, but rather an aid to look for possibilities.

EAST 499

Type: Class — 3 credits
Application Style: Get approval from the Arts Internship Office prior to the beginning of your internship
Amount: Non-applicable
Eligibility: U2 or U3, minimum 2.7 CGPA, permission from the departmental Internship Advisor.
Description: EAS internships, like all Faculty of Arts internships, allow students to gain experience in areas relevant to their field of study. Internships involve a minimum of 150 hours over a period of 12 weeks with an approved host organization. Students are required to submit documentation of the internship experience and a substantial paper discussing the internship experience.

Arts Internship Office

Type: Internships
Application Style: Apply to the Arts Internship Office.
Amount: Varies.
Eligibility: Be a McGill student under the Faculty of Arts.
Description: The Culver Centre: AIO builds relationships with host organizations to offer internship opportunities to Faculty of Arts students, and acts as a liaison between students and these organizations to facilitate in the selection of summer interns. Host organizations are ultimately responsible for selecting their interns, while students are responsible for preparing for and successfully completing the internship.

CRCC Asia

Type: Internship
Application Style: Apply on the CRCC website.

Eligibility: Be at least 18 years old, speak English

Global Entrepreneurship Summer School

Type: Summer Program
Application Style: Apply online
Amount: Accommodation and meals provided on site.
Eligibility: Be enrolled in university at any point in the year, be at least 18.
Description: "The Global Entrepreneurship Summer School (GESS) is a seven-day program where 140 university students come together in Munich, Querétaro (Mex.), Shanghai and Cape Town to develop entrepreneurial solutions that meet the world’s biggest challenges. In the spirit of promoting “billion euro projects to take climate action”, we work on the UN Sustainable Development Goals aiming to empower students to become young responsible leaders who create positive change in our society."

James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program

Type: Internship
Application Style: Be nominated by a designated official from the Career Planning Services.
Amount: $4000 monthly + $1500 provided for relocation (currency is in USD).
Eligibility: Be US citizen, be a graduating senior or have graduated in the last year, not be enrolled in a graduate program.
Description: Gaither Junior Fellows provide research assistance to scholars working on Carnegie Endowment' projects. Junior Fellows have the opportunity to conduct research, contribute to op-eds, papers, reports, and books, edit documents, participate in meetings with high-level officials, contribute to congressional testimony and organize briefings attended by scholars, activists, journalists and government officials.
